At Maydān, every meal begins at the fire—our hearth, our heart, and the soul of our kitchen. From the moment you step inside, we invite you to leave expectations at the door. This is not just dining. This is gathering.

Inspired by the vibrant flavors and traditions of the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus, our menu is designed for sharing, for tasting, for leaning in and passing plates.

You’ll find spreads, pickles, charred vegetables, whole fish, and tender meats, all meant to be pulled, dipped, torn, and savored together.

At the center of it all is the bread. Baked to order in our clay ovens, it’s the first thing to hit the table and the last thing you’ll want to leave behind. It’s your utensil, your anchor, your welcome.

  • Pronounced "my-dahn," "may-dahn," or "mi-dan," this word has roots in a number of languages. It's been crossing borders for generations from Tangier to Tehran, Beirut to Batumi. It means “gathering place” or “square," often in the middle of a city. The word originates in Arabic, but translates to Hindi, Urdu, Persian, Ukrainian, and even Latin. It's one of the many ways can see differences, but in the end we're all the same.

  • The “Tawle” (meaning table in Arabic) experience is an ample tasting menu which showcases the best of what the kitchen has to offer. All dishes are served family-style and meant to be shared. As it encompasses the entire dinner menu, it is designed for people with diverse tastes and can be tailored to fit allergies and dietary restrictions.

    The Tawle experience is $95 per guest. Pricing varies for parties or 7 or more.

  • While we encourage guests to enjoy our offerings - if you would like to bring your own, we charge a corkage fee of $35 per 750mL of wine (2 bottle maximum) and a cake-cutting fee of $3.50 per person.

  • Yes! We do our best to accommodate most dietary restrictions. Please notify us of any food allergies and please note that due to our shared cooking there is the potential for allergen cross contamination.

    We do not offer gluten-free bread, however, we offer crudité as a substitution.

    Please note: We are unable to accommodate allium allergies.

  • Online reservations are available for parties up to six (6) people HERE. These reservations become available at 10:00AM on a rolling 21 day basis.

    While we do ask that parties 5 or large participate in our Tawle experience, our a la carte menu is available upon request for any groups of 4 or fewer.

    For all reservations, we are able to hold your reservation for up to 15 minutes after your reservation time. Due to our limited space, we are unable to guarantee your reservation after 15 minutes. If you are running late, please reply to your confirmation text and let us know when you expect to arrive.     We’re located at 4301 W Jefferson Blvd, tucked into the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles right between Hillcrest and Potomac.

    You'll find us at 4301 West Jefferson Boulevard, just off the 10 Freeway at Crenshaw or steps from the Farmdale Metro E Line stop.

    Street parking is available nearby, and valet is offered for your convenience for $15.

  • A 4% service charge will be added to each guest check to ensure competitive industry compensation, as well as health and medical benefits, for all our valued full time team members. In support of this initiative, the entirety of the charge is retained by the restaurant. If you would like this charge removed, please let our staff know. Thank you for dining with us and supporting our staff.

    An optional tip line is included if you would like to recognize exceptional hospitality. We truly appreciate your support!

    We’re located at 1346 Florida Ave NW, just off of 14th Street NW on Florida Avenue. You’ll see a few of our neighbors (La Colombe and Franklin Hall), and you’ll make a right down the alleyway, going underneath the bridge and past the Mark entrance. Yes, it doesn’t really look like you’re going the right direction, but you are—we promise!

    The closest Metro station is the U Street/Cardozo Metro on the Green Line. Exit the Metro station at 13th and U, and follow U Street until you make it to 14th Street. Make a right and walk north on 14th Street for three blocks until you arrive at Florida Avenue, and make another right. Continue to proceed as described above.

  • We are big advocates of public transportation!

    Washington, D.C.

    We recommend the Metro or any number of buses that go up and down 14th Street.

    You’ll have the most parking success in the garage located on 14th Street and U Street in the Reeves Center Parking Garage (Sunday through Thursday: 6 pm-1 am; Friday through Saturday: 6 pm - 3 am). Additionally, there is metered parking on 14th Street.

    Los Angeles

    Taking the Metro? Hop off at La Brea/Jefferson on the Expo Line. From there, it’s a quick walk west along Jefferson. You’ll pass La Brea, cross under the bridge, and find us just past the overpass on your left.

  • A service fee of 20% is added to every check. This fee is used to pay all non-management employees in the form of wages and benefits. We are committed to providing a stable and equitable pay structure, as the city constantly changes its laws and regulations around small businesses. This structure ensures consistency for our staff across both the kitchen and dining room. We have included an optional tip line if you would like to acknowledge exceptional hospitality, but it is not necessary.

    All parties of 7 or more are subject to a 22% service fee.
